Our trip to Dublin
by Loreen, 9a
On the first day, we arrived and went shopping for a bit and did other things like that.
At 7:00 PM, we had dinner, and afterwards we all went to our rooms.
The next day, we (Room 814) got up at 6:00 AM, because breakfast was at 7:00 AM. After breakfast, we had time to get ready.
That day (January 28, 2025) we walked to a very old ship. The walk there was beautiful because we saw a lot of interesting things, like the Trinity University. We learned a lot about the ship and the Great Irish Famine, and it was very interesting. After visiting the ship, we went to the EPIC Museum of Irish emigration.
Personally, I wasn’t really that interested in it, but it was still pretty cool. In the afternoon, we went to an Irish pub, which was really fun (thanks to Mr. Schmalstieg).
On the third day, we visited Croke Park, the stadium. It was also very interesting to hear everything the guide told us about Gaelic Games (special Irish sports).
After the stadium tour, we had to (or were allowed to) explore the city and had different stations where we had to take pictures of ourselves with the locations in the background. That was actually pretty cool, but also really exhausting because it felt like we walked all the way to the other end of the city.
On the last day, we visited the GPO museum about an uprising in 1916. Personally, I didn’t find it very interesting, but the concept was well done. After the museum, we went out to eat and then took the train to Howth – a part of Dublin near the coast. We then had to (or at least it felt like we had to) run up a hill, but the view was really beautiful. Of course, we then went back to the hostel.
On Friday we got up very early because we had to leave the hostel at 2:15 AM to get to the airport on time, because our flight left very early.
All in all, it was a wonderful experience.
